Sooo… We’re not the type to keep up with the tabloids, but rumor has it Bronco QB, Tim Tebow is being setup on a date with Katy Perry… By her father.

Good, now that we’ve got that out of the way, the reason this interested us is that it’s blowing up the internet. And by “blowing up” we mean the story is driving a ton of online hits… By simply having the word ‘TEBOW‘ on your site, especially if you live in beautiful Colorado, you’re upping your odds of grabbing some coveted web hits.  This being said, we at AdVision aren’t petty enough to type ‘TEBOW – TEBOW – TEBOW’ on our site, but to those who do – best of luck!  TEBOW.

For all of those Geeks out there unsure of what to get their geek mom for the holiday, allow us to introduce you to thinglink.com’s glorious Giftinator.

Like a road map from the gifting heavens, simply follow the info graphic answering such questions as “On a scale of one to Mark Zuckerberg, how tech-savvy is Mom?” and simply follow the arrows to the perfect gift idea.  Not only is this entertaining (the question answers are hilarious) it’s very helpful.  They actually provide gift ideas from iPads to Capacitive Gloves depending on Mom’s geek level, including links to the websites where you can complete the transaction – Brilliant!

I can’t wait to see my Mom’s face when she unwraps her brand new NotPad, available here…  http://www.firebox.com/product/2976/NotPad?currency_conversion=1

According to SplashData, ‘password’ is the most used – and most stolen – password people use online.  Wow – so surprising, right..?  And for those of you who think you’re super clever by substituting a zero for the ‘o’, you really aren’t much better off…  You rank 18th on the list of most used and most stolen passwords.

Included in the remaining top 25 – note some of these are *funny* – are:

  • monkey (6)
  • dragon (10)
  • master (14)
  • shadow (19)
  • ashley (16) !?!

The just of it is – if you use any of the above as a password for any online application, change it now.  But not to ’123456′, as that was #2 on the list.

I love cars. I love clean cars even more. Having spent 45 minutes in line at a local car wash last night, I can tell you there is no greater waste of my time than waiting for my car to be cleaned. Cherry.com, please make your way to Denver soon.

Cherry.com is a website / mobile app that allows users to check in, and have their car washed whenever and wherever they might be. On the surface – This is an AWESOME idea. Simply check in on your mobile device (yes I’m assuming you have one), and the ‘washer’ closest to you will reply with an estimated time of arrival.

Cost? Really no different that what you’d find at a high end car wash – $29, which includes tip.

Hurdles? Feeling comfortable enough to leave your car unlocked for a total stranger. Yikes.

I’m THAT guy who watches how the car is driven on the wash track, I follow the car as it’s pulled through the wash, and I pay attention to who and how the car is dried. I’m a bit of a car freak – I know. But I’d have a hard time not standing next to the washer as he does his work. At that point, I what am I gaining?

For those of you who just pounced on the new iPhone4S, I’ve got bad news for you… There’s a badder phone on the block, fortunately, you’ll likely never see it in public. Porsche, the uber-awesome, German car maker has stepped into the portable device realm, and designed a new Blackberry phone, the P’9981. With a price tag of $2,000!?! – Odds are you’ll see a unicorn in your living room before you see one of these in your pocket.

This being said, if you absolutely can’t wait to blow $2k on a portable Facebook machine that can also make phone calls, please post a pic of the glorious little piece of plastic here…

For those of you who have been yearning to view PDF Docs on your iPad, pause that game of Angry Birds and read on…  Today, Adobe released an app for iPads and iPhones to open and view PDF files.  Althought you can’t edit PDF files, you can search, copy, paste and bookmark pages for later review.

Is this a sign of Apple and Adobe easing the friction in a post Jobs era?

Wozniak Waits

If you have been online anytime in, say the last month, you already know the new (ish) iPhone 4S went on sale today. And just like every other Apple product release, people camped in front of Apple stores for days, even weeks, to say they were among the first to own Apple’s latest device.

What cracks me up is the fact that Steve Wozniak, Apple’s co-founder with Steve Jobs, stood in line outside a California Apple store for his iPhone, just like everyone else. Even though he had two new iPhones scheduled to be delivered later that day, Wozniak said he wanted to be there to interact with Apple fans and catch up on some email.  He could have easily made a single call and received his iPhone 4S weeks ahead of time, but said he didn’t want to ruin the surprise.

Late is better than never.  But if you’re late, you had better make a grand entrance.  Google did just that.  Unfortunately, they might be leaving the party earlier than expected…

After releasing their much delayed social network, Google+, to the public on 9/20, they quickly saw more than 25 Million users sign up for what was expected to be their next big hit.  However, since the big release, they’ve seen new sign ups dip by more than 60% in the last few weeks.  Ouch.

After Google Wave, and Google Buzz, we too thought Google+ would have to be a hit.  Third time’s a charm, right..?  Maybe not.  Upon hearing the news that Google+ was in Beta, we hit up our Google rep for an invite, and couldn’t wait to see what the excitement was all about.  However, once we actually began using Google+, we realized how great Facebook really is.  Why would I invite all of my friends to use another social network, when the one we’ve got is doing just fine.  The effort to start over just wasn’t worth it.

For the record, we love Google and just about everything they create.  And we’re not saying Facebook will be the end all be all social network.  Someone right now is bound to be sitting on the next big idea, ready to thump Zuckerberg from his Silicon throne.  But with nearly a Billion active Facebook users, or one of every 6 people on planet Earth, it’s difficult to imagine that happening anytime soon.  If Google hasn’t been able to pull it off in 3 attempts, who can?
